The High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development is the United Nations central platform for the follow-up and review of the Global Goals. The Forum aims to create discussions between political leaders in years to come as to how best address and achieve the Global Goals.

Yesterday, the first official meeting of the Forum concluded in New York. 22 countries voluntarily conducted a national review of their work towards the achievement of the Global Goal to-date!

Have a read of some of these countries commitments by following the links below!

The UN also launched their Global Sustainable Development Report for 2016 which ranked Australia at number 20. This highlights the need for urgent government engagement from all politicians, businesses, NGOs and individuals around the country. This comes at a perfect time following the three written commitments received from the three major political parties leading into this year’s federal election and our analysis of what the Coalition has committed to doing to achieve the Global Goals over the coming years of their term.
