How Can Your Business Achieve Goal 1: No Poverty?

Over the coming weeks, we are celebrating the benefits of the Global Goals in understanding how your business can commit to sustainability. Today, we look at Goal 1: No Poverty.

Goal 1: No Poverty aims to end extreme poverty and halve relative poverty by 2030. As a business, the best way to commit to the achievement of the associated targets if Goal 1 is to commit to social and economic sustainability. Many of the discussion topics around social and economical sustainability will be raised over the coming weeks.

Social sustainability, such as health and education, are important ways to work towards the eradication of poverty. Economic sustainability, including ensuring decent work and economic growth of your business to provide employment opportunities for people, are also vital means in which your business can commit to Goal 1.

The final, and most obvious way, of committing to the achievement of Goal 1, is through donating company profits to charities working on implementing sustainable methods to eradicate extreme poverty and halve relative poverty.
