How Can Your Business Achieve Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation?

Updated: Nov 4, 2018

Over the coming weeks, we are celebrating the benefits of the Global Goals in understanding how your business can commit to sustainability. Today, we look at Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation.

Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation aims to ensure equitable access to clean and sufficient water and adequate sanitation for all.

In urban areas of developed countries, such as Australia, Goal 6 is more about sustainable management of water consumption than clean water.

Here are a few tips for your business to achieve Goal 6 of the Global Goals:

  • install appliances which use less water where possible

  • install water-efficient taps

  • install dual-flush toilets

  • ensure heating and cooling is switched off when the office is not in use

  • use succulents or other plants which require minimal water to decorate the office

When it comes to sanitation, your organisation could ensure posters are displayed in all washrooms for thorough and regular hand-washing in order to ensure disease is not spread.

Of course, if your organisation is particularly passionate about providing clean water and sanitation for everyone around the world, you can donate profits towards organisations working to tackle these targets sustainably.
