How Can Your Business Achieve Goal 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure?

Updated: Nov 4, 2018

Over the coming weeks, we are celebrating the benefits of the Global Goals in understanding how your business can commit to sustainability. Today, we look at Goal 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.

Goal 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure aims to ensure buildings are resilient, industrialisation is inclusive and sustainable and innovation is continuing to thrive.

While Goal 9 is largely focused on the construction and manufacturing industries, there are still actions small businesses can take to ensuring the achievement of this goal and its associated targets.

Businesses should ensure the building or buildings where their organisations are as sustainable and resilient as possible. This means focusing on resource efficiency and ensuring the adoption of clean and environmentally sound technologies and processes.

Your organisation can also look into innovative methods to change your whole industry for the better - economically, socially and environmentally. Innovation is the key to the achievement of the Global Goals as we can no longer do business as usual. It will require a major shift in all industries and organisations in order to ensure the economic, social and environmental safeguarding of our planet

The final way of committing to the achievement of Goal 9 is through donating company profits to charities working on providing technologies to people in developing countries and to charities working to support infrastructure development in developing countries.
