Strategic Sustainability Consultants CEO Receives Award at Young Canberra Citizen Ceremony
Updated: Nov 4, 2018
Caterina Sullivan, Chief Executive Officer of Canberra-based consultancy business, Strategic Sustainability Consultants was recognised last night at the ACT Government’s Young Canberra Citizen of the Year Awards Ceremony.
Ms Sullivan, who also operates as CEO of Global Goals Australia, was awarded a certificate of high commendation for her dedication to the development of Canberra.
Ms Sullivan was among 18 young award-winners on Friday night at QT Canberra.
“It was incredibly exciting to be in a room full of so many young people who care. It is comforting to know that our future is in safe hands. It is also important that businesses take notice of what these young people are doing because they are the future consumers, and they will be demanding action on economic, social and environmental sustainability from the companies from which they purchase their goods and services,” Ms Sullivan explained.
Ms Sullivan has worked across the globe to promote the United Nations’ Global Goals for Sustainable Development but has focused a lot of her energy in Canberra. “Canberra is my home, and I am so incredibly proud to live here. We have one of the most economically, socially and environmentally progressive cities in the country, and I want to see us recognised for that.”
Last year, Ms Sullivan was recognised as a finalist for the ACT in the Young Australian of the Year Awards for her contribution to the country through the promotion of the Global Goals and her work with federal, state and local politicians.
On Thursday, Ms Sullivan will travel back to Perth where she is working with a local business on their commitment to sustainability and assisting in the start-up of a new sustainable business. She will return to Canberra in May for the Budget and Parliamentary sitting weeks.
