Over 160 cups of Fairtrade coffee later, we had an awesome weekend at Perth’s Akara Café speaking to people about the Global Goals and the importance of Fairtrade products to the global economy.
It was a great opportunity to engage with people on so many of these issues of such great importance. We answered many questions around the meaning behind the ever-popular word “Fairtrade“.

We had a few surprise live concerts from Crisis Mr Swagger throughout the weekend as well as many photo opportunities for those who visited the café.

“I enjoy catering to people,” the international hip-hop artist explained. “It was empowering to know I was helping farmers put food on the table for their families by serving Fairtrade coffee throughout the weekend. Coffee is a way to bring people together, and it gives people an opportunity to speak about their views on certain topics.”
Thank you to Fairtrade Australia and New Zealand for putting the resources together. Thank you to Akara Café for hosting us, and thank you to Crisis Mr Swagger for your time and dedication!
