Caterina Sullivan
Sustainability CEO Announced as Young Social Pioneer

Canberra-based sustainability executive, Caterina Sullivan, has been announced as a Young Social Pioneer for 2017 by the Foundation for Young Australians. The Young Social Pioneer program is Australia’s first, and only, national youth entrepreneurship incubator designed exclusively for young people leading initiatives that respond to society’s most pressing challenges.
Ms Sullivan, a passionate social entrepreneur, was honoured to be recognised. “My fellow pioneers are truly breaking ground when it comes to social entrepreneurship, and I am humbled to be among such bright talent, determination and optimism for a sustainable, harmonious and prosperous future.”
Foundation for Young Australians CEO Jan Owen AM explained, “Our country’s young entrepreneurs, highlighted by our 2017 cohort, have a strong sense of purpose, fresh ideas for change and unfettered, original thinking. To secure our economic and social prosperity, we need young Australians to be equipped and supported to drive new innovations and business opportunities for themselves and their communities. This is exactly what YSP aims to do.”
Ms Sullivan’s work is focused around the United Nations’ Global Goals for Sustainable Development and Australia’s engagement in these goals on a political, corporate and individual level. Next month, Ms Sullivan will travel to New York for the United Nations General Assembly to discuss Australia’s progress towards the goals in further detail.
Commencing on September 6, the Young Social Pioneer program will run over a course of three months through a series of workshops and seminars, culminating in two pitch events for a share in $100,000 of seed money.
